Locations - photos in Baldock

We then went around Baldock to find the other scenes we needed.

First of all we found the alleyway perfect for the murder scene,
having graffiti on the side and murky walls.

Having a shot insluding the skip, cones and signs would help set the urban setting.

This street could be a potential establishing shot, maybe while he's driving to work.

We then went to a place where we have got permission to use some of their rooms for the office scene. This is the first room we could use, which has a long desk and computer potential to use and blinds which will set interesting lighting.

There is another window and blind on the other side of the room too.

This is the next room, which includes a living room style area which looks perfect for the film noir style, with the simplistic black and white table and sofa and the suited wall decoration.

In window is in the room which includes venisian blinds, classic to film noir.

Here is the corridor leading to the office where we would film our detective walking to his office.

We then went to the old industrial estate, which would make an interesting background setting. We could use these for establishing shots going the murder scene, or in the title sequence.

I liked this shot of the railings and worn walls behind, with the tyre pile. The lines from the fence could be a could background when the detective is walking past.

In the distance was a wearing away building where parts of the roof had been taken away, which looks effective.

We then went to the tunnel which was nearby. A misty efffect was captured which looked eerie.

The inside of the tunnel was perfect for the murder scene, having graffiti on the inside of the walls and dampness.

There is also graffiti on the outside of the tunnel.

Here is a view of the tunnel from the other side, which also works.

Having the shot central being able to see down the tunnel works well.

After looking at two potential murder scenes, we decided that we would use the tunnel, as it suited the urban look with all of the graffiti and the eerie film noir style with the long, dark mysterious tunnel.
At the end of the tunnel if someone stands there all you can see is a black silouhette, which will look very effective.
